It's hard not to have a good time when it's a beautiful day, it feels like spring and there's a party on. We had a great day on Sunday for Conor's 7th birthday party. Lots of friends over, good food and the kids having a great time outside.
I usually end up feeling like a bit of a headless chicken at these events, but managed to capture a few photos for posterity. Our theme was loosely cops and robbers... So there were both goodies and a few baddies running round: climbing trees and building huts in the secret sections of the garden.
Conor was so happy at the end of the day, having had a wonderful time with his friends. I love having people here to play with him and share our place in the world. A house and garden full of kids, running, talking and playing. They don't need much to have a great time.
This time last year we had cancelled Conor's birthday party because my Mum had just come out of hospital. Since then, we have had her path back to wellness and also my Dad's journey through cancer treatment. I believe in taking the time to celebrate milestones, so it felt great to be where we are now, celebrating my rapidly-growing boy's birthday and progress.
Happy birthday Conor!
