Lets do the time warp
It is quite an experience to know someone, then miss eighteen years of their life only to turn up again and find them both quite different and exactly the same as you remember.
I can't decide if it's the pause or fast forward button that got pushed, but today I spent time with two university friends who I have not seen for 18 years. A lot of life has gone under the bridge for us all since our mad and carefree university days. I found myself celebrating the amazing people that we've grown into at the same time as wishing I could wash away the tough stuff that we have all faced.
Of course, the tough stuff is part of our stories, and has, in part, made us what we are. All in all, I am left with what good people we all are, and a wish that 18 years hadn't flashed by without us being in touch.
So many good people pass through our lives. I spent the morning at netball, hanging out with a friend who used to be in my netball team. Today we stood and watched her daughter play... how did that happen?
The day has largely been about seeing and celebrating our families and lives: seeing people in their places. Time goes so fast when you are catching up with old friends. So glad I came. Brilliant.
