Today is the winter solstice - the shortest day of the year. It seemed a good day to be on and above the beach: absorbing the wildness, letting it blow the cobwebs well and truly away and showing someone else the vastness of this place.
It's been too long since I've been here: I've been driving past without connecting with the sand and sea. It doesn't matter that the worst of the winter weather is still to come. From tomorrow, we're on the rise towards the long, hot days of summer.
