A day of packing and organising... and saying goodbye. I will be away from him for two weeks.
Last weekend Conor wanted to buy his first diary or journal - a great life tool and practice I'm overjoyed to encourage in him, so we bought him a diary with a day for each page in it.
Being a single parent, and he the product of a split home, we are used to time away from each other - we have learned to accept it as part of our lives because it is something we cannot change. That sentence may seem simple to say. It is not.
Every day life aside, it's not often we have an extended period apart. Conor is very accustomed to the fact that life has a schedule and he copes so well with all his life demands of him. To help him understand the number of days I will be away we sat and wrote in his diary. He knows which day I leave, and which day I come home. He has each day numbered from 1 to 14.
I am going to miss my boy. It's a hurried photo amidst a day of packing. But it's the only one to use today.
