Yesterday's comment about the busy-ness of the year appearing soon enough has come true already: today held a trip to Wellington to see one of my favourite clients. (Great people + talking about how to improve farming = awesome combination in my book. In fact, at one point my enthusiasm levels possibly went slightly off the charts and I had to get a bit of a grip. Ahem.)
Anyhoo, up at 5 and home at 8, meant I saw both gob-smackingly beautiful ends of the day. The Serious Fraud Office lawyer that I sat next to on the plane asked if I managed to get any decent shots shooting through the window. I really hope the photo of the day answers his question: that play of light and shadow on the hills and the ocean just about broke me in half I thought it was so beautiful.
My trade off today was that I wasn't able to take Conor to school on the first day of the year, so I'm sneaking in a photo of him as he was when I left him this morning. I know I'm biased, but I think he's at least as gorgeous as the landscapes!
I'm off for a calming herbal tea before bed - there has been a lot of fire and brimstone in this day!
