On the throttle
A week or two ago I wrote about the pleasure of riding on the bike in the heat of this summer. Tonight I went out looking for the light and thought I'd try and show you a little of the magic. Standing on top of the hill and waiting for the sun to set I hung out with 'the girls' who nearly caused a disaster with their bovine curiosity...
I parked the bike to head to the top of the hill. The cows, being the curious things they are, began to gather for a look.
Suddenly an unusual sounding moo caught my attention; and I turned around to see the bike gathering speed and rolling backwards down the hill! Luckily, it came to no harm, and everyone then stood around trying to look like they had nothing to do with it moving. With a steep hill in front, if the cows had pushed it in a different direction, it would have been bye bye bike. This bike has already had a near-death experience (along with my dad who was riding it at the time). I don't think it would have withstood another sudden plunge down a hillside. Note that it has kindly turned itself around and is now pointing towards home. Excellent.
Even after I finished shooting they were still trying to look innocent.
