Things are burning up here. Late summer is hitting us hot, dry and windy: a recipe for burning us to a crisp. The cattle watch expectantly when you go by, the grass stalks crunch beneath your feet.
Racing around on the four-wheel motorbike though is absolute bliss: hot air rushes over my skin - reminding me so strongly of childhood summers. Speed is it's own particular kind of freedom.
The exhibition is dominating my head space at the moment and I am working hard to find the right images in every day (and yes, I know that's also stifling to my creativity - I can feel it!) My lovely 365 photography friend Wendy, who lives in Santa Cruz, and who I have never met - yet - says she can't wait to see the final 12 images I choose to enlarge. She and I have walked this whole 365 journey together from our separate hemispheres, sharing our lives and learning something each day about each other as we go. She has been a big part of my motivation and I look forward to seeing her images each day: almost as much as I anticipate my camera revealing my own captures.
Today, amongst other words, she sent me this:
Well. How could I not respond to that?
