By all accounts, Peter Yealands is quite the legend, and stepping onto the Yealands Family Wines Estate (not to mention driving around it's 1000 hectare perimeter) eye-poppingly reinforces that he is a man unafraid of going after a big vision.
Joe and I were on a cruisy Sunday road-trip, taking some time to discuss our future. Ending up at the enormous Yealands winery at Seaview, with it's sustainable principles, huge vision and crisp rows of vines stretching as far as the eye can see, certainly had us talking over our wine tasting.
On a sunny but wildly windy day, the Norwester seemed determined to blow out what was left of the old, making way for the new.
I think we all have bold days and days when we're less certain of ourselves, or where old demons raise their heads to trick us into playing small. The trick is to limit the demon days to every-once-in-a-while, recognise them for what they are and determinedly kick ourselves to the surface, so we can live the rest of our days in the open-hearted, brave and bold.
I'll drink to that!
