Looking, seeing, being
I've said it before: the beauty is always there if you look for it. I am beginning this blog some 250 days into my 365 project: my first post included my photo from day 1 of 365, and this photo was taken this morning - 251 days later. I feel a bit sad that this site has missed the intervening 249 photos, but I am thinking through how I will share them here.
No doubt, I will write more on the all-around awesomeness that is 365 - because daily consciousness of the good things is one of my biggest points - by being conscious - paying attention - our lives are so much richer.
I have driven over 100km this morning on my way to work: whizzing past countless vistas and views in a hurry to begin my day. This photo was taken a little further down the road from this spot, though thankfully there were no speeding tickets today!
I do a lot of driving, and a lot of thinking as I travel. One of the impacts of my Photography 365 is that I am constantly looking for what the photo of the day will be: that vista, view or moment that will sum up the day in some way. I am often screeching to a halt and traipsing up the road, camera in hand, to capture a view I would otherwise have obliviously driven past.
I have seen and appreciated so much beauty as a result of my 365.
